Young Adult Program
Your next chapter starts here
Transitioning into adulthood brings new opportunities, responsibilities, and experiences. Whether you’re preparing for work, starting further education, developing independent living skills, or building meaningful relationships, our Young Adult Program is designed to support you along the way.
At The Therapy Place, we assist young adults aged 17–25 to develop practical skills, build confidence, and participate more independently in everyday life. Designed specifically for this life stage, our program provides age-appropriate, practical support tailored to life after high school.
Our collaborative team of Occupational Therapists, Speech Pathologists, Dietitians, and Feeding Therapists works alongside each young adult to support their individual goals, interests, and needs.
Supporting You to Thrive in Adult Life
Therapy during young adulthood is about more than completing exercises in a clinic. It’s about developing skills that can be used in real-world environments—from preparing a meal at home to communicating at work, managing a weekly routine, or enjoying time with friends.
Our program focuses on helping young adults:
- Build independence: Develop everyday living skills, routines, organisation, and confidence in managing adult responsibilities.
- Prepare for work and study: Develop workplace readiness, study strategies, communication skills, and practical approaches to managing expectations.
- Develop communication and relationships: Build confidence in conversation, self-advocacy, friendships, boundaries, and social participation.
- Build confidence with food and nutrition: Develop meal planning, cooking, healthy eating routines, and greater confidence participating in mealtimes and eating out in the community.
- Participate in the community: Work towards accessing transport, social activities, education, employment, and other meaningful opportunities.
