Swish is a program developed to support children with additional needs learn the game of basketball in a controlled environment. The program is designed to target individual skill level by focusing on:

🏀 Improving gross motor skills including catching, throwing, running, jumping.
🏀 Motor planning - identifying what it takes to perform a certain task.
🏀 Body orientation – balance, spatial awareness.
🏀 Learning fundamental skills including dribbling, passing, shooting and rules.
🏀 Communication – encouraging use of expressive and receptive language.
🏀 Social skills – being a team player, sharing and turn taking.

The program is run by two of our occupational therapists Rick Foley and Rebecca de Boer, both basketball crazys! Rick is a Nationally Accredited Basketball Coach and can be seen regularly coaching his teams at Kilsyth Stadium.
