The National Disability Insurance Scheme is an insurance support scheme of the Australian Government that funds costs associated with disability. The Therapy Place is a registered provider for NDIS supports under the category of Improved Daily Living. We are able to support our families who are self-managed, plan managed and agency managed. You may be eligible for a CDMP (also called an Enhanced Primary Care Plan or EPC). You can use the CDMP plan for 5 individual allied health sessions and will be rebated a certain amount per visit by Medicare. This amount will increase if you are over the safety net. This can be used for OT, Speech Therapy and Dietetics.
Many of our occupational therapists are registered to provide services under a MHCP. With a Mental Health Plan you would be able to claim for up to 20 OT sessions a year. A referral is required by either your GP or paediatrician. You will receive a Medicare rebate for a certain amount for each session which will increase if you are over the safety net.
Check with your individual fund to see if you have ‘Extras’ cover for Occupational Therapy, Speech Therapy or Dietetics. The fund may reimburse a certain amount of your OT fee. Most private health claims can be processed on the spot using our HICAPS system.
